SEE a Paris - South-East European Film Festival

SEE a Paris is a dedicated attempt of all the twelve South-East European countries to create a special contribution to the cultural unification of Europe as our common home. Dante Alighieri declared Paris to be the “universal spiritual heritage”; Jean Monnet said that if Europe was to be built again, it should definitely start with the culture, and Nicolas Bouvier wrote that “the Balkan is the heart of Europe” in his magnificent book “L’usage du mond”. Therefore, every spring this heart of Europe pulsate in Paris through the films of the SEE cinema.
The festival program includes feature films, documentaries, animated and short films from all 12 SEE countries.

Actor of Europe / Актерот на Европа

Each year between 06 to July 11, on the shores of Lake Prespa, for ten consecutive years it's held the International Theater Festival "Actor of Europe". This festival established itself as one of the most important cultural events in the Prespa region and the Republic of Macedonia. On the festival their participation took one of the most important names of domestic, regional and international theater scene. Each year in the traditional spirit of cultural cooperation between Macedonia, Albania and Greece, opening of the festival is on the three languages that are spoken in the Prespa Lake, Macedonian, Albanian and Greek, which on symbolic way at least for a moment erase borders around the lake. The festival is held outdoors in the beautiful setting of a court of Sarai in Resen (House of Culture).
Ohrid Academy of humanism / Охридска академија на хуманизмот

The Ohrid Academy of the Humanism is formed on 19.01.1991 by Macedonian writer, with international reputation, Jordan Plevnes in cooperation with Liljana Kotevska Plevnes, Zoran Veljanovski Letra, several Macedonian intellectuals, the publishing house MACEDONIA PRIMA and the famous archeologist from Ohrid, Pasko Kuzman. In January 2007, the Ohrid Academy of the Humanism together with the municipality of the city of Ohrid (just before the publishing of the work of the great Japanese Humanist, Daisaku Ikeda “The dialogue about the life” in the edition of “Macedonia Prima”), brought an official decision: each year in January to give a world award of Humanism. This will bring a new tradition about the presence of this mythical Macedonian city in the world’s horizon of harmonization in the philosophical, religious, political and artistic sense of our epoch. The first announced winner was the holder of the dialogue among the civilizations in the world, Daisaku Ikeda.

Women's Rights Nights / Вечери на Женски Права

Women’s Rights Nights is a event which so far had 5 editions held in Skopje in March, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
It offers an alternative to traditional celebrations of IWD and through art, it encourages both women and men to critically reflect upon pertaining gender inequalities, while praising the achievements that have been made to date. Previous editions of WRN confirmed the interest of the public in new forms of engagement with women’s rights and gender equality.
WRN is a result of a collaboration between City of Skopje, UN Women Skopje office, the Institute for Gender Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy at “St. Cyril and Methodius University” and the University of Audio-visual Arts ESRA from Skopje.

Kino Brazil Film Festival

First KINO BRASIL FILM FESTIVAL was realized in Macedonian Cinematèque, from 23 to 25 May 2014. The Festival is supported by the University of audiovisual arts, European Film Academy - ESRA. Other screening was organized in the Art Gallery KULA and MENADA bar.
The Festival shows contemporary Brazilian short and feature films in the Cinematèque of Skopje. It’ s a collaborative work involving The European Film Academy, the Macedonian Cinematèque and Filmmakers from Brazil and Macedonia.
